20TH OCTOBER

YEA! back frmo sea sortie! its was a wonderful experience as i withness 1st hand a the landing of super pumas and chinooks of the RSAF on the flight deck of the LST (landing ship tank) and not to mention getting to ride on a FCU (Fast craft unit) and again withness the launching of the FCEP (fast craft for equipment and personals).

O ya and i learn quite alot from the sortie. primary obj is the learn how to use the equpis on the bride and how to report to the OOW.

So erm started on 18/10/06 woked up dam early to prepare myself.... and also update my blog XD at 4am+ LOL XD then went to boon lay to wait for zhang hong BUT HE LEFT WITHOUT WAITING FOR ME! WTF!... then i over there like idoit waiting till 0630 hrs... and also we din bring our hp along coz no camera hp allowed... dam pissed off la... i mean wtf la...

okok reach le then bag check walk to RSS Persistence 209 got on board showed our mess (bedroom) changed into our coverall and withness the ship going underway (moving in naval term)

and so the ship went underway heading towards pulau sudong (a live firing area for planes) and also military exercise... as we were underway.. msg ong took us on a tour ard the ship... chinwoo and i dun nid a tour la... i tink... i still can rmb the ways... provided persistence din add ani thing special XD lol...

after the tour was lunch and after lunch we reached the destination... so the heli ops (in short for helicopter operations) commenced! seriously it was my 1st time witnessing heli ops dam cool... wanna be a pilot next time LOL! haha... there were 2 super pumas and 2 chinooks woah nice! i din noe y but i waved at the chinook and ONE OF THE CREW WAVED BACK! LOL abit kua zhang XD... but it shows how decisive the RSAF is they can notice tis tiny dot waving at them XD

so we kept seeing the same old thing happening... abit sian... hover, land, flight crew latch the copter, change pilot, unlatch and take off... within a few mins. cool huh? im sooo like dam lucky! not everione can get tis GOLDEN ops to withness tis... so after the heli ops was dinner... and after dinner was close up (a term use for duty) my 1st close up was in the engine rm of the LST and i was wif zhan hong. to an engineering student it was a freaking gd ops to be able to withness how a ship operates... hmmm... tink tis part is quite sensitive... - - - - - - - (skip)

my close up was from 1900 hrs to 2200 hrs but i insisted to continue til 0100 at the bridge (wheel house / control rm) wif chin woo and yvonne lim and yvonne chia... had a chat wif captain daniel kwok (a person i inspire to be) he was somehow like me talkative XD LOL haha. he was from a JC he signed up as a RSN (Republic of Singapore Navy) and is now doing his degrees if im not wrong... quite a cheerful and knowledgable guy.

wake up at 0645 if im not wrong... heard the wakey wakey pipe...

and after tat i dun quite rmb wad happen... roughly... watch keeping... lunch, lauching of the FCEP (Fast Craft and Equipment and Personals... lol 4get liao XD) erm wads a FCEP? hmm those hu got watch the movie saving private ryan... the 1st part the vessel tat they took to land in on the beach... erm there is a ramp at the front... rings ani ding dong bell?

and there was the FCU (Fast Craft Unit) ride to pulau sudong DAM FUN LA! lol the ride hmm there was a man overboard drill they threw the life bouy / ring into the sea, flew the Oscar flag (which means man Overboard) blew the horn... and recused the life bouy. Capt Daniel also asked us to threw the life ring over board ani time... dunno y... he said us but obvious reasons... it meant me... so i threw blah blah blah... saved... proceed on to the island... reaching the island... captain daniel asked us to brace for impact... but the FCU slowed down and end up was a little jerk... all of us were like "wth.. wooo ahhh we gonna fall... XD" for me i was expecting smth more powerful wif more impact tat could knock me out of my feet... but nope... nvm... so we stepped foot on the island... dunno y we play section commander LOL dam lame... maybe it was too bored.. so there was tis pit... chinwoo hid in it... trying to camoflage and blend into the GREEN surrounding when he was wearing BLUE! stupid right? stupidity also has its limits.... LOL shoot him XD... so he gav the hand sign to move forward (which is represented by swinging ur hand forward once at face lvl)... clarence go move up LOL so i joined in... grabbed a stick and pretended it to be a gun... and we continue tis path... lol till the RSN personals shouted tat we are going to far in... so we went back and played soccer wif them as they hav bought a soccer ball along... chinwoo go lie inside the pit again... SO WE TAOPOK HIM XD

ard 10 mins or so we needed to head back to the ship BUT wif more manuevering mand over board drill...

after we got back onto the ship the haze was pretty bad so the heli ops was cancelled and we returned back to Singapore ahead of schedule and poof im back here posting XD

okok i go slp le... lata still got sch XD dunno wherther can wake up...
