First post after my Taiwan trip.

Altogether I can say that Taiwan is quite a fun place if only you have:
1) Enough space in your luggage
2) Enough time to spend
3) Enough money to spend
4) The right company
5) No E-Tour or what so ever...

The Shi Ling night market is a must go and the A4 size chicken cutlet is a must try together with the pudding milk tea and the fermented toufu. There are also other places with very interesting stuffs which I have tried and seen like wild boar sausage, some glutinous ball dessert, Mcdonald's Hotcake with PORK sausage breakfast (non muslins only sorry.), Taiwan maggi mee with meat inside and much more. My advice is don't be afraid and just TRY! Shopping for shirts there will be good only at those night markets, not shopping centers as most of the stuffs are DIRT CHEAP.

Plenty of things to see, a pity that my camera decided to go bonkers before the trip, if not this will be a less wordy post.

An interesting thing that happened in Taiwan was the Train ride. The Taiwan train service is similar to Singapore's just that for the standard ticket, they don't use card but a coin with an electronic chip inside. Yes, a small blue coin slight bigger then a Singapore 50 cents coin. The group I went out with got dumb-fold and stood at the ticket machine for a good 1 minute thinking of where can we insert the coin and finally by pure coincidence and luck, Alvin tapped the coin on the reader and TA-DA! We unraveled the mystery of the coin card.

I kind of miss Taiwan's cool but not the cold weather. I think I sweat more then what I sweat in the entire Taiwan trip on the first day in OETI. I was dripping sweat by just climbing 5 levels of stairs.

Currently posted to OETI for 2 weeks of specialization training and then I will be back SOL for about a week plus for the last outfield exercise and finally back to SAFTI for joint term and then COMMISSIONING (if I manage to pass my SOC). Doubt that I will get any award, my performance totally sucked and I missed some of the graded exercises.
